relationship with my phone

Some people these days keep their entire lives on their phones.  To me a phone is important but it is not my entire life. This may just be because my parents don’t allow me to have a Smartphone. Either way I feel a phone is a necessity.
Certain individuals are constantly on their phones. They do not leave their sides. They spend hours and hours a day on their phones whether they are texting someone or verbally talking on the phone. I am not one of these individuals. I will not lie though I do need my phone. It is extremely important to me. My phone is important because I use it to contact important people in my life. For example if I can not come into work tomorrow all I have to do is text my boss at that exact moment and a couple of seconds later I have a response saying, “Ok thank you, for letting me know early.” If it wasn’t for my cell phone at times like these I could get into some trouble. Another situation were my phone is needed is when I need a ride somewhere or something important happened and I must let my parents know.
Other than using my cell phone for emergencies or job purposes I also use it for pleasure. I talk to people sometimes just to make conversation. My cell phone has saved me from boredom countless times. When I am all alone and have no one to talk to all I have to do is pick up my cell phone. I look through my contacts and begin a conversation with someone through a text. That is another thing I don’t usually call someone over the phone I fell texting someone is much easier. The only people I will call are my parents and college coaches. Not even college coaches, they usually end up texting me.
Sometimes I forget my phone at home when I go out and I don’t really care. Some people would freak out if they left there phone at home. I would prefer to have it with me but it isn’t that big of a deal where I have to drive home just to get my phone. I will just worry about it when I get back. Even though I do not stress when I do not have my phone I would not be able to live without it for six months. Six months is a little to long to not have a cell phone. I can maybe go two days without a cell phone. All though I am not obsessed with my phone I still need it on me. I need it on me incase I receive an important message or if someone important calls. If there is an emergency and I didn’t have a cell phone there would be no way for anyone to contact me.
I need my phone but I am not obsessed with it. I am not one of those types of people who are talking to someone everyday for six hours. I just use my phone regularly or as needed. I occasionally use it just to strike a conversation with someone. My phone is important to me and if I didn’t have it for six months I would not be happy but I do not need it all of the time.
