Music is everything to me. Music is one of the most important factors of my life. If there were no music I wouldn’t be the same person that I am today. All types of music have an influence on me. Rap, rock, indie, hip-hop, techno and hundreds of different genres are my favorites. Music is extremely important to me. In fact as I am blogging right now I am listening to music (Runaround Sue by G-Eazy if you were curious).
Music is not just a background noise to me. Music is inspirational to me. Every song has its own message. Some songs make me feel good others get me pumped up. When I am sad and down on myself I listen to some mellow happy music like ska music for example. Right before my wrestling matches I listen to a fast, aggressive, upbeat song like techno or certain rock songs. Other songs make me really think about life. Certain songs have really deep meanings and leave me thinking for hours about life experiences. Other than life experiences some songs help me think easier. A song with a nice easy flow helps me do my homework and write essays easier (now I’m listening to 2am by Slightly Stoopid).
Music is important to me because without it I would not be able to survive a day. Music helps be get through everyday feeling good. It’s so important to me that when I get bored I sometimes make songs. I will usually take two songs I really like and mix them together to make an even better song. I will also spend hours on the computer looking up new songs that I might like.
I don’t see music as distracting at all. Music is something that actually helps me concentrate. My parents always tell me to turn the music off and do my homework. I tell them it’ll take me hours to do my homework if I turn it off. They think I’m crazy. Not too many people can listen to music while doing homework or something that requires concentration. If I could have music playing all the time throughout my day I would. I personally think I would never fail a test again if I were to listen to music during school (Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers).
The main genres of music that inspire me are rap, ska, indie, and some rock songs. Rap has inspirational words with an amazing flow. It is almost like poetry. Ska music is like island rock. It has a catchy reggae beat and makes you feel good. Indie and certain type of rock songs have multiple effects. They conflict with my emotions and either get me pumped up, make me relaxed, and many other emotions and feelings. Certain songs make me feel sad or cold on the inside. A lot of really slow songs sung with a lot of emotion are the ones that make me feel this. I prefer upbeat happy music (Penguins by Avicii).
As you can see I enjoy all types of music. They make me who I am. I feel life wouldn’t have meaning if it weren’t for music. Music makes the world exciting and entertaining. No one wants to be a boring stiff. Music prevents this. Music is at least fifty percent of my life. It isn’t just important to me. Music is a universal language that everyone can love and enjoy (Sweetest Thing by U2). What a great song to end a blog to.
